Roble Australiano

Especie originaria del este de Australia. A pesar de que esta especie es conocida por el sobrenombre de roble australiano en realidad no tiene ningún parentesco con los robles. Su madera fue muy usada en ebanistería, por su resistencia a la pudrición, por lo que en su hábitat natural ha tenido que ser protegido. Es una especie de rápido crecimiento, una buena cualidad para su uso ornamental.

Se trata de un árbol de origen subtropical de hoja perenne. Su nombre científico "robusta" hace alusión a su porte y su crecimiento rápido. Sus hojas son "bipinnadas", compuestas, de 15 a 30 cm. de largo.
La característica más destacable de esta bella especie es su espectacular floración durante los meses de mayo a junio, y debido a esta circunstancia este bello árbol también es conocido como árbol de fuego o pino de oro. Sus flores salen en racimos erectos y son de color naranja-dorado.

Australian Silky Oak

The origin of this specie is in the east of Australia. Even though this specie is known by the last name of Australian oak, in reality, it is not related to the Oak family. This type of wood is widely used in fine woodworking due to its resistance to deterioration, consequently, in its habitat, measures had to be taken for its protection. This specie grows rapidly and the wood is of good quality for ornamental usage. 
The origin of this tree is subtropical and the leaves are perennial. The name “robusta” is related to the constitution and rapid growth. Its leaves have a "bipinnate” format with 15 to 30 cm. long. The most remarkable feature of this beautiful specie is its spectacular bloom from May to June and due to this reason, this beautiful tree is also known as flame tree or gold dust pine. The flowers grow in straight-line clusters and they have an orange-golden color.
